“And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:22-23
God wants to bless us more than we are willing to receive. Many believers do not receive answers to their prayers because they fail, or are unwilling, to keep His commandment. Notice, commandment is “singular,” inferring that to believe on Christ and love one another is “synonymous.” This is God’s only requirement in order to receive what we ask for; and yet, love in many churches is sadly a “rare” commodity. Thus, many believers live as spiritual paupers, doubting the benevolence of God and hating one another. May this not be so among us. Let’s “ask” that we might receive; because we “believe” and we “love!”
For His Glory,
