Last week was the Republican Convention and now the Democratic Convention is winding down. In their wake many will be left to entertain “conspiracy” theories intimated by both parties. As believers, let’s resist the temptation to entertain the many “conspiracies,” leveled by both campaigns; allow your vote to be guided by facts, and faith in Christ. I’m reminded of the words of Isaiah;

(Isaiah 8:12-17) “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread. He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken.” Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples. And I will wait on the Lord, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.”

Hallow Him!” Consecrate God in your heart and mind. Hold fast to the firm foundation of His truth! Do not be swayed by “conspiracies,” but rather, be swayed by the conviction of His word! He alone is our “sanctuary” in these troubled times. May the Holy Spirit guide us according to God’s “foundational eternal truths,” in this presidential election season.

For His Glory,
