HOLY WORK

Author: Pastor Al Pittman

We can answer the call to His holy work, when our confidence rest fully in Christ, as the focus of our “worship!”

Pastor Al

(Psalm 94:16-19)

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Unless the Lord had been my help,

My soul would soon have settled in silence.

If I say, “My foot slips,”

Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.

In the multitude of my anxieties within me,

Your comforts delight my soul.

The summons to holy work: — It is hardly possible to read this psalm through without feeling that the inspired voice in it denounces the unbelief of the heathen’ world. When a man has come to a deep conviction of the Oneness of Jehovah every other worship is to him an abomination, for such worship must either be an awful rivalry to Him whose glory cannot be given to another or must involve a total misconception of His nature and a blasphemous corruption of His name.
